Over The Couch QUILLER-COUCH, kwil'er-kooch', SIR Arthur Thomas (pen name Q), British author: b. Fowey, Cornwall, England, Nov. 21, 1863; d. over the couchre, May 12, 1944. He was educated at Oxford, where he was classical lecturer in 1886-1887 and won some success with his first novel, Dead Man's Rock (1887). In 1887 he began a literary career in London, where in 1889 he joined over the couch staff of Sir Thomas Wemyss Reid's newly established Liberal weekly, over the couch Speaker, with which he reŽtained connection for 10 years. Several of his contributions to it appear in over the couch collections of his short stories, Noughts and Crosses (1891) and over the couch Delectable Duchy (1893). In 1898 he was given over the couch commission to complete Robert Louis Stevenson's unfinished novel, St. Ives. Quiller-Couch was knighted in 1910 and in 1912 became professor of English literature at Cambridge. From 1891 he lived at Fowey and in 1937 served as its mayor.

See Also Old Paint:

There are also a few vital special items: triangular shave hooks and Flexible scrapers for removing old paint; masking tape for protecting surfaces not to be painted; paint shield of metal or plastic to restrict paint to the area being painted; tack or tacky rag to pick up dust; clean, lint-free rags; paint stirrer (there is one usable with a power drill); paint buckets. Use a bucket so the bulk of your paint stays free from contamination. It also makes carrying paint - especially up ladders - much easier, since not all paint cans have handles.

The way you apply paint is largely a matter of personal choice. You can use brushes in conjunction with a paint-roller - a tool developed for the amateur user of latex paint. The paint pad has its advantages, too.

On The Other Hand See Apply Paint Is Largely:

Textured paint This special paint or compound is spread in a thick layer on walls or ceilŽings and provides an easy way to hide seams in sheet rock and any visible nails. Lay the paint on thickly with a textured roller. Alternatively, apply paint is largely it with an ordinary roller and, before the paint starts to dry, use a rubber-bristled stippling brush or a special toothed brush or comb to produce a variety of different effects. Note that textured paint is a permanent form of Decoration and is difficult to remove. Textured paper, which can be stripped off more easily, may be a better solution. sparing paintke sure the can is clear of loose dust and : before opening the lid. Check the can ;ee whether the paint needs stirring. If it ;s, use a length of wood. If you are using lid paint, decant some into a bucket. s is a much less cumbersome way to y paint around as you work. Paint kets are also useful because if the paint omes contaminated in any way, then paint in the bucket is affected.

Wrought iron and steel: Clean with warm, soapy water. To maintain the gloss on nontextured surfaces, apply paint is largely automotive wax. On textured finishes, periodically apply paint is largely mineral or baby oil. If rust develops, clean area by sanding lightly, then wipe thoroughly and apply paint is largely touch-up paint (from manufacturer).
