The Outdoor Studio: There is a type of portrait photography, and one which makes a wonderful specialty for those who have the flair to practice it impressively, which requires no studio lights at all and, indeed, not even a studio. This specialty is the pro¬duction of outdoor portraits or character studies.
Also, the outdoor studio which is far removed from other persons helps to establish a rapport between photographer and model, makes it easy for them to work together in emo¬tional harmony.See Also Under Outdoor Electric:In the wild, katydid feeds on variety of plant leaves; rose leaves always acceptable. Under old boards, under stones, in cracks in ground, crevices in trees, in dry grass about houses, under outdoor electric lights, and even in houses; on warm spring evenings they are at¬tracted by strong outdoor electric lights and often collect under them in great masses.
Crickets may be easily captured. The equipment necessary is a large-mouthed jar with a screw top punched with holes for air and either an insect net or just the bare hands. Locate crickets under outdoor electric lights or look for them under old boards, stones, or in dry grass. Cover cricket quickly with hand or with net, and drop it in jar. They are easily maintained in captivity when properly caged and fed, and are a never-ending source of interest to children.
On The Other Hand See Outdoor Room:AUTOMATION: Room lights, window shades and screens that drop down from the ceiling can all be automated and dramatically change the look of the room. One of the hottest trends, says Josh Christian of DSI Technologies in Studio City, is using motorized screens and one-touch technology. "We like to see a client with one remote that can lower the shades and dim the lights. That really makes it a high-performance multipurpose room."
That's the theme in outdoor furniture this season, as designers borrow what's fresh and fun from Interior Design and put it on the patio.
SWEET SANCTUARY: The concept of the outdoor room has expanded from living to lounging. It's bedding in the backyard, with an emphasis on comfier yet still weather-resistant materials. Among the hot items? Tandem chaise lounges.
